CBSE Hosts Secondary Level Accountancy Workshop at St. Thomas’ School, Shimla

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully organized a two-day Subject Core Workshop on Accountancy (Secondary Level) at St. Thomas’ School, Shimla on 4th and 5th August 2025. The workshop aimed at equipping accountancy teachers with effective pedagogical tools and strategies to simplify teaching methods and enhance conceptual clarity among students.

The training also focused on critical areas such as the latest syllabus, sample papers, and CBSE’s revised marking scheme. The workshop served as a platform for knowledge exchange and professional development, aligning with CBSE’s broader goal of providing quality education through teacher empowerment.

CA Sunil Kumar and Sumit Singla, former Assistant Professor of SD College, Chandigarh, led the workshop as keynote speakers and resource persons, offering insights on teaching techniques, evaluation patterns, and curriculum updates.

The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a warm welcome address by the Vice-Principal of St. Thomas’ School, Sharon Nanda, who also felicitated the resource persons. A brief outline of the workshop was shared with the attendees to set the tone for the sessions.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from 38 teachers representing St. Thomas’ School, nearby schools in Himachal Pradesh, and educators from Haryana, reflecting strong regional engagement and interest in academic advancement.

On the concluding day, Anshul Sharma, Subject Teacher and STNC of St. Thomas’ School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the resource persons and participating educators. She acknowledged the value such workshops add to the teaching community.

Vice-Principal Sharon Nanda, in her closing remarks, thanked everyone for their contributions in making the event a success. She emphasized CBSE’s commitment to continued professional development through Capacity Building Programs (CBPs), subject core training, and in-house workshops in the future.
