The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organized a two-day English Core Secondary Level workshop at St. Thomas’ School, Shimla, on 7th and 8th July 2025. The workshop aimed to equip teachers with innovative and simplified methods of teaching English language and grammar and emphasized the effective integration of technology into language instruction.
Ravi Sharma, Senior English Teacher at Army Public School, Dagshai, and Jyotsna, TGT (SST) from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, served as the keynote speakers and resource persons for the event.
The workshop began with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony. Principal Vidhupriya Chakravarty and Vice Principal Sharon Nanda welcomed the guests and participants, followed by a briefing on the workshop’s objectives. Resource persons were also felicitated by the school.
A total of 49 teachers from St. Thomas’ School and nearby schools from Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Haryana attended the workshop, making it a collaborative learning platform for educators across the region.
Earlier, on July 5, the school also hosted a one-day workshop on Environmental Studies, led by Vikas Verma and Karan Sood, with 59 teachers in attendance.
In her closing remarks, Anshul Sharma, STNC of St. Thomas’ School, expressed gratitude to the speakers and participants. Principal Chakravarty appreciated the support and announced that more CBSE Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs), subject core sessions, and in-house training events will be conducted in the future.
