Chief Electoral Officer Presides over Meeting with Officers of Police Department

Chief Electoral Officer C. Paulrasu here today held a meeting with Officers of Police Department. Director General of Police Department Sanjay Kundu was also present in the meeting. Chief Electoral Officer appreciated the efforts of Police Department on this occasion. During the meeting, discussions were held on various issues in regard to maintenance of Law and Order during bye-elections of Mandi Parliamentary Constituency and Arki, Fetehpur and Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly Constituencies.

Paulrasu stressed on ensuring adherence of Covid-19 guidelines during canvassing of bye-elections. He asked the officers that for adherence of Covid-19 guidelines continuous monitoring should be ensured and strict action should be taken against defiant. He said that effective steps should be taken to ensure use of mask, use of sanitizer and maintaining of social distancing during virtual and public address. CEO also urged the police officials on election duty to cast their vote. He asked to take effective steps to ensure security of Electronic Voting Machines and other materials. He directed to deploy CAPF in vulnerable areas and to monitor illegal liquor and other such issues. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Ashok Tiwari, Inspector General of Police (CID) Daljeet Thakur, Inspector General of Police (Crime) Atul Phulzele, Additional Inspector General of Police (HQ) Sakshi Verma, and other senior officers of the department were also present in the meeting.
