Chief Minister Directs Officers of Aiims to Complete Construction Work in Stipulated Time

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inspected construction work of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Kothipura in district Bilaspur today and presided over a meeting with senior officers of the Institute.

Chief Minister said the state government is committed to redress all issues related to construction of AIIMS. He directed the officers to ensure proper arrangements for electricity and to take effective steps for various approvals in time bound manner.

Chief Minister said that ample parking facilities should be made to facilitate the people. He directed the officers to speed up the construction work so that the people of the state could avail specialised health care facilities at the earliest. He asked the authorities of AIIMS and district administration to work in coordination for speedy redressal of various issues pertaining to the Institute.

On this occasion, officers of AIIMS apprised the Chief Minister that the phase-I of construction work of the Institute would be completed by 30th June, 2022 and classes for second batch of MBBS would commence either by the end of this year or by January, 2022.

The officers informed that the construction work of the project would be completed within the stipulated time period. Efforts were being made to start OPD services from next month. Telemedicine facilities have been started in the Institute from May, 2021 and AIIMS is providing OPD services in Regional Hospital Bilaspur from June, 2021, benefiting about eight thousand persons.

Chief Minister also interacted with MBBS students at the Institute.

Director AIIMS Vir Singh Negi welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed the various activities of the Institute. He also urged government to provide land for school in the vicinity of Institute.

On this occasion, officers of AIIMS made a presentation related to the construction work of AIIMS.

Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Rajinder Garg, Political Advisor of Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal, MLA J.R. Katwal, Vice-Chairman of State Disaster Management Board Randhir Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Rai, Superintendent of Police Virender Tomar and officers of AIIMS were also present on the occasion.
