Swaran Public School, Tutikandi celebrated Children’s Day with fun and lots of games. School Principal, Seema Mehta greeted the students on the occasion. Thereafter, light was thrown on the life and work of independent India’s first Prime Minister, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, by staff member Shubhra Jhingta.
A number of games were organised for the students by the teachers which were immensely enjoyed by them. In musical chair Usha Bhatia was the winner in the senior section and Saksham won the round for juniors. In Ball Pass Megha won the first prize. Dumb Charades was played with a twist as students were given different lines, poems or quotes of great thinkers and were asked to guess the same. A variety of new games were played to make the programme interesting.
The event was given a more meaningful turn as teachers and students provided a full meal on this day to patients of Cancer Hospital, Shimla. School teacher Praveen Sharma gave the students an insight into the festival of Guruparv that also falls on 14th November this year. He also threw light on the Sikh religion.
Finally all teachers presented the ever famous Nati and students cheered them with full josh. The eventful Day ended with distribution of sweets to all children.
