CM Sukhu conducted the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme at Gram Panchayat Tangroti in the Dharamshala Assembly constituency, where he interacted with residents and addressed their grievances. He announced a grant of ₹1 lakh each for local Mahila Mandals, along with funds for the Ramed–Tangroti link road, the tarring of the Tangroti road and adjoining routes.

Reaffirming the government’s vision to promote tourism, the Chief Minister said Kangra district has been declared the “Tourism Capital of Himachal Pradesh.” He informed that ₹460 crore has been released for the expansion of Kangra Airport, a project expected to enhance land value, boost tourist inflow and strengthen the regional economy.

Highlighting that over 90% of Himachal’s population resides in rural areas, CM Sukhu said the government is focusing on strengthening the rural economy. The MSP for cow milk has been raised to ₹51 per litre and buffalo milk to ₹61 per litre. Under natural farming, wheat is being procured at ₹60 per kg, maize at ₹40 per kg, and raw turmeric at ₹90 per kg. He added that efforts are being made to create employment opportunities for youth closer to home.

Referring to the recent by-elections, the Chief Minister alleged that BJP won the Dharamshala seat through “false propaganda” and said that Congress candidate Devinder Singh Jaggi lost by a narrow margin to a turncoat candidate.

Speaking on education and health reforms, CM Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh has achieved a 99.30% literacy rate, placing it among India’s top states. He noted that the State now ranks 5th nationally in qualitative education, compared to the 21st position during the previous BJP government.

In the health sector, he highlighted the start of robotic surgery at RPGMC Tanda and Chamiyana Hospital, and announced that the government has approved ₹28 crore for a PET Scan machine at RPGMC Tanda, along with installation of advanced CT scan and X-ray machines.

Congress leader Devinder Singh Jaggi praised the Chief Minister’s commitment to delivering welfare schemes at the grassroots level and said that the Tangroti milk collection centre would be further expanded. He also criticised the BJP MLA from Dharamshala for remaining “out of touch with the public.”

Local panchayat representatives welcomed the Chief Minister at the event. Chairman Wool Federation Manoj Thakur, Mayor MC Dharamshala Neenu Sharma, Chairman APMC Kangra Nishu Mongra and several dignitaries were present.
