A delegation from the Kandaghat area of Solan district, led by Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil, met CM Sukhu in Shimla on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the delegation urged the Chief Minister to denotify Kandaghat Nagar Panchayat and restore its status as a Gram Panchayat. The Chief Minister assured the representatives that the state government would sympathetically consider their request.
On the occasion, former Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Srinagar Kandaghat and senior BJP leader Gurvinder Singh joined the Indian National Congress along with around 50 supporters in the presence of the Chief Minister, expressing confidence in the policies and programmes of the state government.
Members of the delegation also appreciated the Chief Minister for accelerating development works in the area.
