Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has issued clear directions for the speedy disposal of long-pending taqseem (partition) and durusti (correction) cases in the State, instructing revenue officers to conduct hearings three days a week to ensure time-bound resolution.
Presiding over a high-level meeting here today, the Chief Minister directed that from January 5, 2026 onwards, all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars will hear partition cases every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This will ensure hearings on at least 12 days every month for taqseem matters. He further directed that Deputy Commissioners will review the progress of partition cases every Saturday and submit a review report the same day to the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue).
As per the monitoring mechanism outlined by the Chief Minister, the Revenue Secretary will submit a detailed report to the Revenue Minister every Monday, while the Revenue Minister will apprise the Chief Minister of the progress on the last Monday of every month.
The Chief Minister also directed the Revenue Department to present a comprehensive record of private land, forest land and government land in the State. In addition, he sought detailed information on all pending cases in revenue courts, including the nature of cases and the duration for which they have remained pending.
Emphasizing the need for swift and transparent disposal of revenue matters, CM Sukhu instructed that all pending durusti (correction) cases must be cleared by March 31, 2026. He said that the State Government is firmly committed to resolving long-pending revenue disputes in a time-bound manner.
To accelerate the disposal process, the Chief Minister directed the reappointment of retired Patwaris, Kanungos, Naib Tehsildars and Tehsildars, so that the backlog of cases can be cleared at the earliest. He also instructed that concerned officers and officials be provided with proper training to strengthen the efficiency of revenue case resolution.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi also offered valuable suggestions during the meeting for ensuring timely disposal of revenue cases.
It was informed in the meeting that under Revenue Lok Adalats, from October 2023 till date, a total of 4,24,368 intkal (mutation) cases, 25,918 taqseem cases, 47,075 nishandehi cases and 12,896 durusti cases have already been resolved across Himachal Pradesh.
