CM Directs to Consider Regularization of Service of Panchayat Veterinary Sahayaks

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Himachal Pradesh here today said that the State Government was committed for the welfare and well-being of workers and working class.  He said that a committee would be constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary to look into cases of compassionate ground  in various government Departments, Boards and Corporation. He also directed the concerned department to sympathetically consider regularization of services of Panchayat Veterinary Sahayaks.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government, during the last four years, have increased the minimum wages of the daily wagers  from Rs. 210 to Rs 300 per day thereby increasing their monthly wages by Rs. 2700. He said that the State Government must also ensure that the industrial units must also provide adequate and appropriate wages to their workers. He said that weekly off was being provided to all the daily wagers. Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has enhanced the amount for Asha workers by Rs. 1750 during the last four years. He said that the State Government during the last four years have enhanced the honorarium of the Anganwari workers by Rs. 2850 per month, and were now getting Rs. 7300 per month.

He said that issues pertaining to part time revenue workers and graduate water worker clerks would also be considered sympathetically. He said that demands of the  workers and employees of the HPTDC, HRTC, HPSEBL would also be considered sympathetically. Chief Minister said that regular meeting of service committee of Boards and Corporations should be held so that the pending issues of the employees could be redressed. He said that steps would be taken to stop exploitation of workers by the cement plant managements in the State. He said that services would be allowed through contractors particularly in the cement plants and other industrial units in core activities. Jai Ram Thakur said that all the genuine demands of the employees and workers of the State were being considered sympathetically. He said that the State has largest number of employees in the country as per the population ratio. He said that the pandemic has affected the world economy and the State and the country were no exception.

He said that during the pandemic the BMS has played a constructive role in helping the State Government to come out from this situation He said that the employees during this testing time also made immense contributions in the State. He said that Asha workers, Anganwari workers and other health workers indeed did a commendable work during this pandemic. He said that suggestions given in this meeting would be considered while preparing the next year budget. Chief Minister said that promotion quota of supervisor from anganwari workers would be enhanced from 80 percent to 90 percent. He also directed the officers to create and fill up posts of panchayat chowkidars in newly created 412 panchayats to facilitate the people. President Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Madan Rana welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He said that the Chief Minister has always remained considerate towards the various demands of the employees and workers.

He urged the Chief Minister to be considerate towards the various demands of the labours and working class while finalising the State Budget for the year 2022-23. He assured the Chief Minister that the each and every worker of BMS would work with greater commitment and dedication for coming upto the expectation of the State Government. Labour Commissioner  Ashish Singhmar conducted the proceedings of the meeting and presented vote of thanks. Additional Chief Secretary Labour and Employment R.D. Dhiman, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretaries Subhashish Panda, R.D. Nazeem and Devesh Kumar, Secretaries, Dr Ajay Sharma, Vikas Labroo, Rajiv Sharma, Amitabh Awasthi and Rakesh Kanwar,  senior officers of the State Government, General Secretary BMS Yash Pal Hetta, representatives of various organizations were present on the occasion among others.
