Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, has instructed the Education Department to retain lien in the parent cadre for teachers selected for CBSE-affiliated schools, ensuring that their promotional opportunities remain unaffected.

Presiding over a high-level meeting, the Chief Minister also directed the department to fast-track the affiliation process for government schools with the CBSE. He announced that 140 government schools will be affiliated with CBSE from the next academic session. In the first phase, 99 schools have already secured affiliation, while the process for the remaining schools is underway.

Sukhu further instructed relaxation of service conditions for appointing Principals in CBSE schools, reducing the minimum remaining service requirement from three years to two years. He added that CBSE-affiliated schools will feature a distinct logo and a uniform colour scheme. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to quality education, the Chief Minister stated that he will personally monitor academic standards and assured adequate funding to strengthen school infrastructure.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the implementation of the “No Mobile Phone Policy” in schools, effective from March 1, and directed the department to complete all necessary formalities within the stipulated timeframe.
