Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated 500 LPM Pressure Swing Absorption Plant (PSA) at Government Civil Hospital Sundernagar in Mandi district today completed at a cost of over Rs 1.50 crore. Chief Minister said that the State Government during the last four years had laid  special emphasis on development of Sundernagar Vidhan Sabha area. He said that the previous Congress Government only made tall claims regarding development of Sundernagar area, but actually did nothing. He said that on the other hand, the present State Government believes in ensuring that benefits of development reach out to the person living at the lowest ebb. He said that there were only two PSA plants in the State pre-covid, whereas today the State has 41 PSA plants in different parts of the State. Jai Ram Thakur said that due to the able and strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a biggest vaccination campaign was going on in the country.

He said that Himachal Pradesh has also achieved an unique target of cent per cent vaccination of eligible population in the State. He said that special sorties of State chopper were made to carry vaccines to remote area of Bara Bhangal of Kangra district and Malana village in Kullu district. Chief Minister said that the State effectively ensured management of the pandemic and the initiatives of the State Government were even appreciated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the State has also pioneered in first dose of Covid-19 vaccination of people of the eligible age group and now the State has also become first State of the country to achieve the target of cent per cent second dose or Covid-19 vaccination of all the eligible population. He also urged the opposition leaders to refrain from politicizing this sensitive issue as people of the State well understand the nefarious design of the Congress leaders. Jai Ram Thakur said that the present State Government was completing four years of its present term on 27th of this month and the occasion was being graced by the most popular leader of the world Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that the Prime Minister would inaugurate and lay foundation stone of four developmental projects for the State worth Rs 11,300 crore.  He urged the people to witness this historic event. Chief Minister also congratulated the farmers of the State on the occasion of the National Farmers Day. He said that the State Government was committed to ensure welfare of the farming community of the State as about 90 percent of population of the State lives in rural areas with agriculture as their main avocation. He also honoured a few progressive farmers of the area on the occasion. He also announced a Veterinary dispensary at Bari in the constituency. Later, while inaugurating the 266th Branch of HP Gramin Bank at Pungh, near Sundernagar, Chief Minister said that the Bank has rendered great service by providing efficient banking services to the rural consumers. He said that the HP Gramin Bank has 25 per cent share in the bank system of the State in respect of disbursing benefits of various welfare schemes for which he appreciated the efforts of Chairman of the Bank Udai Chandra and other Members of the Bank.

MLA Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal, while welcoming the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion, thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating a PSA Plant for the Sundernagar Civil Hospital. He thanked the Chief Minister for strengthening the Sundernagar Hospital by making it a 150 bedded Hospital. He also thanked the Chief Minister for accelerating the pace of development in Sundernagar Vidhan Sabha area. He said that the Rs 25 crore drinking water supply scheme for Sundernagar town was nearing completion and would be dedicated by the Chief Minister within next few months. He said that Rs 295 crore has been sanctioned for Slapar-Tattapani road under CRF, which was possible due to the commitment of the Chief Minister. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area. BJP District President Dalip Singh, Mandal President Pratap Thakur, President Nagar Parishad Sundernagar Jitender Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Arindam Chaudhary, Senior Medical Superintendent Sundernagar Civil Hospital Dr. Dharam Singh were present on the occasion among others.
