Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated the Swarnim Himachal Kala Mahotsav at New Delhi. This event is a part of year long Swarnim Himachal Celebrations to commemorate the 50 years of statehood and is being organized by Language, Art and Culture department of HP in joint collaboration with Hotel Lalit from 4th to 9th December, 2021. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh undertook a glorious journey during last fifty years. It has made remarkable progress in every sector. The achievement of the state in health and education sector has also been lauded at national level. He urged the residents of Delhi to visit Himachal and enjoy its serene beauty.
He said that Himachalis are simple people with hardworking spirit and are great hosts for tourists. Chief Minister said that state was lauded for its efforts in COVID management and Himachal has made stunning performance in achieving the target of inoculating both doses of COVID-19 vaccination to the eligible persons of the state and being the first state in the country to accomplish it. Harish Nadda and Keshav Suri Young entrepreneurs presented himachali cap and shawl to Chief Minister. Chairperson Special Olympics Dr. Mallika Nadda was the special guest on the occasion. The event is an initiative of Dr. Mallika Nadda and Dr. Jyotsna Suri Chairperson Lalit Group of Hospitality.
Dr. Mallika Nadda briefed about the event. She also urged the guests to encourage the himachali artists by promoting them. She lauded the efforts of Dr. Jyotsna Suri Chairperson of The Lalit Hospitality group for promoting Chamba Rumal. Cultural programme was presented by folk artists from Kullu. During the event, Himachali artisans have put up stalls showcasing himachali handicrafts, woodcraft, metal craft, kangra paintings, kinnauri and kullu shawls, chamba rumaal etc. Folk dance and folk music of himachal will also be showcased besides Himachali cuisine including sepu vadi, rajma madra, chambyal palda etc will also be available and people can taste delicacies of the state.
Principal Resident Commissioner S.K. Singla and Director Art Language and Culture Pankaj Lalit presented himachali cap and shawl to Dr. Mallika Nadda and Dr. Jyotsna Suri National Awardees Lalita Vakil and Anita Kumari were honoured for their distinguished services in promoting Chamba Rumal, himachali art and craft. Master Chef Nand Lal was also honoured on the occasion. MP and President State BJP Suresh Kashyap, dignitaries from various embassies, prominent citizens of Delhi and senior officers of Centre Government were also present on this occasion.
