Shimla: A vibrant and celebratory atmosphere prevailed at Oak Over, the official residence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and the State Secretariat on New Year’s Day, as people from all walks of life gathered to exchange greetings and extend their best wishes for 2026.
From early morning, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, senior administrative officers, police officials and government employees visited to greet the Chief Minister. Later in the day, large numbers of local residents and party workers from various districts of Himachal Pradesh also arrived to convey their New Year wishes.
Expressing his gratitude to the people, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reaffirmed his commitment to building a Self-Reliant Himachal Pradesh. He said that the State Government would continue to focus on green and sustainable energy initiatives to safeguard the State’s rich natural heritage while ensuring balanced development.
The Chief Minister emphasized the promotion of high-tech and innovation-driven industries to generate greater employment opportunities for the youth. He added that the government would undertake strong and systematic reforms in key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education and infrastructure to make public services more efficient, inclusive and accessible.
He said these initiatives are being pursued under the broader vision of “Vyavastha Parivartan”, aimed at transforming governance and strengthening the State’s economic and social foundations.
The Chief Minister conveyed his New Year greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh and expressed confidence that collective efforts and public participation would help the State achieve new milestones of progress and self-reliance in the coming year.
