Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated 17 upgraded schools in Seraj Assembly Constituency of Mandi district through virtual medium from Shimla today. Government Primary School Surangi, Kau, Kandhi, Kothda and Majhan upgraded to Government Middle School, Government Middle School Jhot, Shalagad, Bahwa, Raingalu, Kalhani and Narayanban were upgraded to Government High Schools and Government High School Dharotdhar, Mani, Seri-Batwara, Baghi-Bhanwas, Sudharani, Lambsafad and Chaplandidhar upgraded to Government Senior Secondary Schools. While addressing the programs organized in all the upgraded schools, the Chief Minister congratulated the people of the area and said that this would solve the problem of commuting to the school and provide convenience to the students. He assured that additional buildings would be constructed in all the upgraded schools as per the requirement.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State government had ensured equitable and all-round development of every area of the State. The State Government emphasised on to strengthen the basic infrastructure in the field of education. Many initiatives have been taken in the newly constructed buildings of the schools. A provision has been made to install solar energy panel system in 50 government colleges, 50 schools and 20 industrial training institutes in the budget for the financial year 2022-23, he added. AYUSH gardens would be established in 200 government schools and 50 government colleges, in collaboration of Forest and AYUSH Departments in 2022-23, in which various medicinal plants and herbs would be planted. The Chief Minister said the State has made a remarkable progress in the field of education. The state government was providing financial assistance to the meritorious students from economically weaker sections for higher studies in medical, engineering and other subjects and for competitive examinations.

He said that an incentive of Rs. One lakh was being provided to 100 meritorious students of 11th class by getting the highest marks in class 10th for training in vocational or technical courses. Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subhasish Panda, Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr. R.N. Batta, Director Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Sharma were present at Shimla, while Zila Parishad member Draupadi Devi, Panchayat Samiti President Sher Singh and Devender Rawat, Mandal President Bhagirath Sharma, General Secretary Bhisham Thakur and Tikkam Ram, BJP leader Gulzari Lal, Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chaudhary, office bearers of the organization and senior officials joined in through virtual medium from Seraj.
