bcs-inside18.4 (1)The Inter-House Artificial Wall Climbing competition was held in Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, here today amidst lot of excitement and enthusiasm as students from various houses cheered their players for a win. Artificial wall climbing is a very young sport and was introduced in the nineties by the World Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA). Bishop Cotton School is one of the few schools in India which has included this activity in the curriculum to keep up the fitness level in students. The School’s Senior Master I. Boyd was present on the occasion to encourage and cheer the students accompanied with the school coach Rana to oversee the event smoothly.

The results of the competition were as under:

D Division — Thanawat of Ibbetson came 3rd and Aditya Beri of Rivaz came 2nd whereas Aditya Jha of Lefroy got the 1st position.

C Division — S. Shah of Curzon came 3rd, Bharat P Singh of Rivaz came 2nd and H. Sadeja of Curzon came 1st.

B Division — A. Sharma of Curzon came 3rd, V. Ruatsanga of Rivaz came 2nd whereas Sauravh Sharma of Lefroy got the 1st position.

A Division — Kanish Sirohi of Curzon got the 3rd position, Abhishek Behl of Ibbetson came in 2nd and Prabhat Aggarwal of Curzon was 1st.

The proficiency shield positions were as follows: 1st – Curzon, 2nd – Ibbetson, 3rd – Rivaz and 4th – Lefroy. Curzon house won the challenge shield for the Inter-House Artificial Wall Climbing for the year 2015 followed by Rivaz, Lefroy and Ibbetson.
