Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today released two major statistical publications prepared by the Department of Economics and Statistics, Himachal Pradesh — Statistical Abstract of Himachal Pradesh 2024-25: Data Visualization” and “Statistical Year Book 2024-25.”

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Minister appreciated the department’s continuous efforts toward data-driven and transparent governance in the State. He said that accurate and timely data serves as the foundation for effective development planning, ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every citizen, especially those in remote areas.

The 2024–25 editions introduce innovative data visualization tools such as charts, graphs, maps, and color-coded analytics to make data more interactive, accessible, and user-friendly for policymakers, researchers, and the public. These publications offer valuable insights into key sectors like agriculture, education, health, industry, infrastructure, finance, and public welfare.

CM Sukhu emphasized that in the current economic environment, evidence-based policymaking is vital for achieving sustainable and inclusive growth. He noted that these publications mark a step forward in Himachal Pradesh’s commitment to modern, technology-enabled governance.

Secretary (Economics & Statistics) Dr. Abhishek Jain informed that the datasets are also available online through the Digital Himachal Portal, ensuring transparency and easy public access. He said the government aims to leverage technology for informed planning and improved service delivery.

Economics Adviser Dr. Vinod Rana highlighted that the new enriched format of the Statistical Abstract will help administrators, planners, scholars, and stakeholders quickly derive meaningful insights. He also thanked all data-providing departments, boards, and corporations for maintaining data accuracy and comprehensiveness.
