HRTC to add 150 buses in its fleet
New permit system for buses to be introduced soon
On the occasion of 74th Republic Day Function, Deputy Chief Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri unfurled the National Flag at Una today and took the salute of march past presented by the police, home guard, NCC cadets and school children etc.
Terming Himachal Pradesh as the Virbhoomi, he remembered all those who had made supreme sacrifices for the freedom of the country. He also mentioned the brave hearts of Himachal who have brought laurels for the State. He congratulated the people of the state on this historic day and said that the spirit of democracy lies in the prosperity of the nation and the happiness of its people.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion and tableaux of various departments showcasing the achievements of the State Government were also taken out.
He said that a road map would be prepared for providing facilities to the pilgrims in all the temples of the state and the premises of Shree Mata Chintpurni temple would be upgraded with modern amenities.
The Deputy CM said that the government was committed to provide irrigation facilities to farmers. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Rs. 75 crore for Beet area Irrigation Scheme-II has been prepared. He said that soon a parking and shopping mall would be set up in Una with an outlay of Rs. 75 crore was in the process of finalisation.
Around 150 electrical buses would soon be added to the fleet of HRTC. Apart from this new permit system would be made available which would facilitate the youth to start their own buses without much formality, said the Deputy CM. An electric charging station would be set up at Rampur HRTC workshop in Una.
Sh. Agnihotri, also retreated his resolve to root-out mining and drug mafia on the occasion.
Earlier he offered floral tributes at Shaheed Samarak at MC Park.
Those present on the occasion were MLAs, Satpal Singh Satti, Chaitanya Sharma, Sudarshan Babloo and Devender Bhutto, District Congress President, Ranjeet Singh Rana, Former MLA, Satpal Raizada amongst the senior district civil and police officers.
