Indian Concrete Institute in a ceremony held at Shimla on 5th December, 2021 conferred ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ upon Devendra Kumar Sharma, Hon’ble Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission. This Life Time Achievement Award has been given to Sharma for the overall excellence and contribution in water and energy sectors. Sharma is also a member of the National Security Advisory Board, Govt of India. Previously, he was Chairman of Bhakra Beas Management Board from April, 2017 to July, 2020. Indian Concrete Institute lauded significant contribution made by Sharma in managing the assets of national importance and his specific contribution in the fields of water resources, dam safety, operation and maintenance of dams and hydroelectric projects and distribution of water and electricity to the partner states during his tenure in BBMB.

 Indian Concrete Institute, Shimla Centre representing  appreciated the work and contributions made by Sh Sharma during the last forty years in water resources, dam engineering, hydroelectric projects and energy sector throughout the Country. Sharma thanked Indian Concrete Institute for conferring upon him this award and dedicated the award to his team mates who worked with him on challenging assignments during his professional career of more than 40 years.  He also thanked his family members for their continuous support throughout his career. He said that hopefully, this award would inspire young professionals working for national water and energy security.  He said that he is deeply honored for recognition of his contribution towards Nation Building. Sharma has professional experience in water resources, dam engineering and energy sectors.  He has worked on planning, design, construction and operation & maintenance of number of dams for irrigation and hydroelectric projects throughout the country as well as in Bhutan.
