Dharamshala By-Election: Congress Promotes Honest Leadership with Devendra Jaggi

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu attended a program of Himachal-Punjab Gorkha Association in Dharamshala today. He said that the former MLA and BJP candidate kept his mobile and the doors of his palace closed for the people of Dharamshala for 15 months. He said that there is such a big gate outside the former MLA’s palace that the common man is afraid to go inside. He said that the person who is not loyal to his family and party, what will he do for the people of Dharamshala? He said that the former MLA has no pain for the common man, he is only greedy for money. Such people are dangerous for politics too.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the former MLA bought 82 properties worth more than Rs 10 crore in the name of his driver Nekram in Dharamshala and surrounding areas, which is his own black money. He said that the BJP candidate is a land mafia and in his greed for money, he even sold the votes of the people of Dharamshala. He said that the BJP candidate was working as a property dealer and had no connection with public service.

Together with the BJP, he hatched a conspiracy to topple an elected government and reached Haryana to get the second installment of the deal. He said that the time has come to teach a lesson to the person who trades public sentiments. He appealed to everyone to vote in favor of the Congress candidate on June 1. The Chief Minister said that the Congress Party has fielded Devendra Jaggi in the Dharamshala by-election who has an honest image and understands the pain of the common man, so the voters of Dharamshala should make Devendra Jaggi victorious by casting their votes in maximum numbers.

He said that the Congress Party has made a veteran leader like Anand Sharma its candidate from the Kangra Lok Sabha seat, whose voice is never unheard anywhere. He will raise the voice of the Kangra Lok Sabha constituency in the Lok Sabha with full force. Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the present state government gave the old pension to the government employees in just 15 months of its tenure. A scheme of providing pension of Rs. 1500 per month to women was implemented, under which they will be given Rs. 18000 in a year.

A scheme has been made to provide free education to the children of widows up to the age of 27 years and widowed women are being given financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh for building houses. He said that the Congress government has started welfare schemes for every section so that no section remains deprived. Earlier, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu visited the residence of Buddhist religious leader Dalai Lama and took his blessings.

On this occasion, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Raghuveer Singh Bali, Congress candidate from Dharamshala Devendra Jaggi and officials and members of Gorkha Association along with a large number of people were present.
