The President of India, Droupadi Murmu graced and addressed the 7th convocation of Central University of Himachal Pradesh at Dharamshala today.
On the occasion, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who was present as a Special Guest welcomed the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu on her visit to Himachal. While congratulating the degree recipients, he said that the convocation ceremony was a memorable moment to cherish and always look back at the days of one’s growth and personality development.
“This moment is the beginning of a continuous aspiration for creativity, knowledge and lifelong learning” said the Governor. He said that today is also a day of introspection for all the students who received degrees and medals. He said that this was a time to re-identify our weaknesses and strengths.
The Governor said that the education paves the way for a cultured society and towards shouldering the responsibilities to take India towards a developed Nation
He also appreciated the role of the teachers around which a new sapling of an educated and cultured society grows. He said that teachers should mould their students in such a way so that they could play the role of a well-educated, honest, cultured and aware citizen in the society.
He also emphasized on maximum use of information technology to enhance efficiency. There is a need to pay more attention to e-education and technical discussions, he added. He said that to achieve new heights in the fields of education and research a competitive spirit has to be promoted so that after getting an education from this university, our degree holders could well establish themselves in the world. On the occasion, President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu also conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.
