CM Sukhu directed officials to develop an online portal for registration of Home Stay units within ten days, while reviewing tourism development projects in the state today. He also instructed that tenders be issued for hiring competent software firms to design user-friendly online portals across all departments.

The Chief Minister emphasized that all payments in HPTDC hotels, GAD guesthouses, and departmental rest houses, including food bills, should be made fully online to enhance transparency and convenience for tourists.

To improve project planning, the Chief Minister ordered the empanelment of professional architects for designing projects under the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Tourism Development Board, with advertisements to be released within ten days.

“There should be no administrative barriers in promoting the tourism industry. We must simplify procedures to ensure ease of doing business,” said CM Sukhu.

During the meeting, he also reviewed proposed rules of the Tourism Investment Promotion Council (TIPC) and suggested amendments to make them more effective. It was decided that hotels under construction would also be included under TIPC’s purview.

The Chief Minister further directed officials to expedite the operation and maintenance of loss-making HPTDC units to provide better facilities for tourists.
