CM Sukhu today flagged off five vehicles loaded with relief material for families affected by recent disasters in Himachal Pradesh. The event took place at his official residence, Oak Over.
The relief consignment—donated by the International Lions Club—includes 161 essential kits comprising dry rations, utensils, blankets, tarpaulins, and other necessities. Distribution will be managed by the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates.
Expressing his gratitude, CM Sukhu thanked the Lions Club for their timely support. He acknowledged the severe impact of the recent monsoon, which led to loss of lives and widespread damage. He also appreciated the continued support from individuals and organizations helping the affected communities.
Highlighting the government’s response, the Chief Minister announced an enhanced relief package for 2025. Compensation for fully damaged houses has been increased significantly—from ₹1.30 lakh to ₹7 lakh.
