Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of projects valued at Rs 12 crore in Dodra-Kwar, a remote area of Shimla district. Among the major inaugurations were the Gosang-Jiskun road (Rs 5.43 crore) and the foundation stones for Dodra-Chamdhar (Rs 5.46 crore) and Gosang-Harli roads (Rs 85 lakh).
In a historic move, the Chief Minister launched the first ATM in Kwar, installed by the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank. Furthermore, he introduced the “Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi,” releasing Rs 91.62 lakh to 509 women beneficiaries and Rs 45.45 lakh as pensions to 505 other women in Dodra-Kwar.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering Dodra-Kwar, announcing a separate Zila Parishad and promising Rs 1 crore for the development of each of the five panchayats. A Rs 4.5 crore bailey bridge project connecting Uttarakhand, alongside other infrastructure developments, was also announced. The road from Ladrot to Dodra-Kwar is set to be completed by October 2025.
Health and educational advancements are underway, with assurances of adequate staff, resources, and a civil hospital. He also enhanced MGNREGA wages and support prices for wheat, maize, and milk to boost the rural economy.
