Delhi Public School, Shimla, celebrated the beauty of language, creativity, and confident self-expression through ‘Eloquence – Where Words Find Their Voice,’ an Intra-School Poetry Recitation Competition that showcased the literary talent of students from Nursery to Class VI. The event served as a vibrant platform for young learners to express their thoughts, emotions, and imagination with confidence and conviction.

The programme was graced by an eminent panel of guests comprising Vivek Mohan Sharma, National Award-winning filmmaker and storyteller; Pratima Wilson, Senior Faculty Member at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, and an accomplished Cambridge educator; and Asshur Wilson, Cambridge educator, historian, and distinguished alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. The guests were warmly welcomed by the School Headmistress, Veena Chauhan.

The young participants enthralled the audience with captivating recitations on themes such as patriotism, compassion, humour, imagination, peace, discipline, and universal human values. Their confident stage presence, clear articulation, expressive delivery, and appreciation for literature transformed the event into a memorable celebration of poetry and creative expression.

Commending the students for their outstanding performances, the distinguished guests encouraged them to embrace the power of language as a tool for creative thinking, effective communication, and responsible leadership. They emphasised that the ability to express ideas with confidence is an essential life skill that empowers individuals to inspire positive change.

A significant highlight of the day was an interactive session for the parents of the Primary Wing, conducted by eminent psychologist Dr. Shalini Dhadwal. Her engaging session focused on positive parenting, effective communication, and children’s emotional well-being, offering practical insights to help parents nurture confident, resilient, and emotionally secure children.

The event concluded with appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the students, teachers, and parents whose collective commitment ensured its grand success. Under the visionary leadership of Headmistress Ms. Veena Chauhan, Delhi Public School, Shimla, continues to create meaningful opportunities that foster confident communicators, critical thinkers, compassionate individuals, and future-ready leaders.

‘Eloquence – Where Words Find Their Voice’ reaffirmed the school’s belief that when children are encouraged to express themselves fearlessly, their words become instruments of learning, leadership, creativity, and positive social change.
