The Himachal Pradesh Revenue Department, under the guidance of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has significantly accelerated the adoption of digital technologies, bringing greater transparency and efficiency to its operations. These initiatives have reduced the need for citizens to make multiple visits to government offices and have led to visible improvements in revenue services across the state.
Two years ago, the state government launched the Revenue Management Portal, which has already uploaded 1,16,490 case orders online. Citizens can now track the status of their cases in real-time, anytime and from anywhere, without the need to visit offices. A government spokesperson highlighted that the adoption of modern technology is key to ensuring transparency, especially in a state where nearly 90% of the population is engaged in agriculture and relies heavily on efficient land administration systems.
The ‘My Deed’ paperless registry system has also delivered notable results, with 55,874 registries completed online to date. Citizens can apply for registries remotely and need to visit the tehsil office only once, saving both time and money.
To ease the workflow of revenue officials, the e-Roznamcha system has been implemented, enabling online filing of the Daily Incidents Diary. Additionally, since 1 September 2025, all revenue courts in the state have been made fully online, handling processes like partition, demarcation, correction, and encroachment through the e-filing system. So far, 5,940 cases have been filed online, making the process faster and paperless.
All land record maps in the state have been digitized and geo-referenced, ensuring accuracy and transparency in land-related matters and providing convenience to landowners.
Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized that the government believes in transparency and accountability, stating, “Digitization of departments is essential to ensure that citizens can avail services efficiently from the comfort of their homes.”
