The Sukhu Government has facilitated admissions of orphan children into top schools like Pinegrove Public School (Solan), Tara Hall (Shimla), and Dayanand Public School (Shimla), ensuring equal educational opportunities.

Under this flagship scheme, orphan children are adopted as “Children of the State” and provided complete care and education up to 27 years of age.

Orphan children receive financial assistance for higher studies and job-oriented courses, with reserved seats in technical institutions such as ITIs and engineering colleges.

Children are taken on educational tours to historic and cultural sites across India, with the state covering travel and accommodation costs.

In a pioneering move, Himachal Pradesh has enacted a dedicated law securing the rights of orphan children to dignified living and education.
