anc3Honouring mothers and motherhood, the little angels of Anchorage Kids Pre-School presented a cute programme for the entertainment of the parents while celebrating Mother’s Day at Hotel Holiday Home today evening. Principal Vibha Kanwar said, “Mother’s support their children and hold the whole family together. A mother is a guiding light for every child throughout the journey of his / her life. She is the first teacher and the first mentor to her child”. Extending a warm welcome to all the parents she further added that the evening would surely be entertaining for parents and a memorable one also.

The event began with a sweet dance number by the little boys — Aaditya, Abhigya, Arjit, arnav, Bhavesh, Divyansh, Drashty, Ishan, Kabur — Everybody Dance Now. Adopting a more creative approach Principal Kanwar and her staff had organized an interactive games session midst dance performances by the kids. The evening especially belonged to the parents. The first game was writing the complete  name of the spouses within one minute. The excitement and the thrill of participation was seen among all as they quickly tried to scribble the names, for which Anil Soni received a token gift for writing his wives name 19 times.

anc2Next was the Handi game, which almost worked like Antakshri. As the music played a handi full of words on chits was passed all around and as the music stopped parents were suppose to sing a song with the same word. Yashwant Sharma accompanied with his wife sung “Chudi Mazaa Na Degi, Kangan Mazaa Na Dega”. Mohinder Singh Attri, father of Kavya Attri entertained all with the song “Piya Gaye Hai Rangoon”, while Sangeeta and Nityan Mishra sung “Mere Hatho Main Nau Nau Chudiya Hai”. Abhilasha and Kumar Satish Shrama, parents of Kabir, feeling nostalgic sung “Neele Neele Amber Pe Chaand Jab”.

The fun and entertainment part of the event had just begun, as there was more to follow. Next game was the Newspaper Couples Dance. The enthusiasm of participating among all parents was quite high as they all stepped on the stage with their counterparts to dance to the music. The ultimate was when finally husbands lifted their wives and danced. But still no result were received and the game was continued with a Ballon Dance, which was to be held between the two with their heads and hands held behind while dancing. Finally Reena and Naresh Chauhan won the award after a tie breaker.

anc1After this was the foot tapping number by the Anchorites girls — Kavya, Ritanjali, Sandhya, Sanvi, Yakshi, Jatin, Manseerat, Serisha, Ansh — who with their hats and stick gave a thrilling performance on the song Baby Doll. Following this the games session began again and it was then time for some Q&As such as — a person having maximum number of 1000 rupee note or coins; mom wearing high heals; mom with longest hair; husband carrying a photo of his wife and vice-versa; person carrying a blue purse or wallet; dad wearing a green shirt; mom wearing a black saari; and so on. Ambika Naggal took the price for high heals and Ruchika Rekhi won the award for wearing a black saari.

The evening ended as all kids presented their moms with a small basket bouquet appreciating their efforts while showing their affection. Senior most mom, Tej Parinder Kaur, mother of Raveen Singh, Principal Euro Kids also presented gifts to the winners and was honoured as she cut the cake to mark the end of the celebrations. The best couples award went to Kabir’s mom and dad. Rupin Rekhi, father of Sanvi ended the evening with a melodious song Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindazi Main Anna.

Principal Vibha also informed that we had a very different idea of entertainment for parents this year. We had invited both the parents on Mother’s Day and planned interactive sessions involving both parents. Games were especially organized and I am quite happy with how the evening has come to an end. Karunesh Naggal, father of Ritanjali also stepped on the stage appreciating the efforts of the school and the Principal in celebrating the day in such a big way and making a difference in their children’s lives.

All parents shared a light-hearted talk, enjoying the moment with their kids as refreshments were served !!!
