“A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”, we always hear our teachers and parents remind us of this saying time and again. In order to inculcate healthy habits in kids and make them aware of benefits of healthy living, tiny tots of Euro Kids Pre School, New Shimla, celebrated ‘Health is Wealth Day’ on 21st September, 2014 in SPS School, Khalini, Shimla. The chief guest for this occasion was Advisor of Education in Himachal Pradesh Government, Dinker Borathoki, and among other dignitaries present were the Territory Academic Coordinator, Euro Kids International Pvt. Ltd, Aarti Singh and General Secretary Himachal Pradesh Taekwondo Association, Vinod Kumar. Children demonstrated various forms of fitness exercises and participated in short races. Parents were also present in huge numbers to support and encourage their children.
The event began as the chief guest was welcomed by the School Principal Ravine Singh and presented with a memento and a sapling followed by a brief school report of the years’ events by the Principal. She elaborated on the various creative and interactive activities that took place in the school and also appreciated the presence of all the parents in support of their children.

Chief Guest Dinker Borathoki gave some important tips to the students regarding health and told them some facts about child psychology and said, “I thank Principal Ravine Singh for giving me an opportunity to be here today among these beautiful children. Children learn very quickly at this tender age, therefore parents should keep a check as anything can impact a child. They should try and maintain a positive atmosphere around them. It seems such a small gesture but when your child washes his/her hands, it is actually a significant action. A simple act of washing hands regularly can drastically cut the likelihood of illness. In order to bring out the best in your kids, encourage your children to play some fun and educational games outdoors rather than spending time watching TV or electronic games”.
The event officially concluded with distribution of prizes to all the students for performing enthusiastically and making the day memorable for all present on the occasion.
