Auckland House School celebrated its Senior Section Speech Day on October 1, 2024, with Headmaster Mathew P. John of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, as the distinguished Chief Guest. Others present included Founder Principal of Auckland School for Boys Micheal John, and Principal Rueben John, Director Auckland House School Sunita John and Neelam Bali among others who were warmly greeted by the school Principal Samarki Samantaroy.
The event began with an opening hymn, followed by the presentation of awards to 180 students from Forms VI to XII for their outstanding achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. Scholarships were also awarded for excellence in both academic and extra-curricular pursuits. Alice Sharma and Samridhi Sood received the ISC toppers’ trophy for 2024, while Aradhya Sethi was named Best All-Rounder of the year. House awards included Durrant House winning the Study Cup, Matthew House taking the Singing Cup, and French House being honoured with the Cock House for Conduct and Culture.
The event was attended by parents, staff, and students, who enjoyed captivating performances by the School Choir and band, ‘Shelz’. The audience was further entertained by an English play titled Prince Charming’s Complaint, an interesting twist to the ‘happily ever after’ tales how flummoxed Charming is trying to handle his three damsels in distress and in therapy trying to understand his women. The stunning presentation by the Indian Classical Orchestra was loved by all along with the vibrant fusion cultural dance numbers.
In her address, the Principal shared the Annual Report, highlighting the school’s accomplishments throughout the year. The Chief Guest praised the efforts of both students and staff, commending their hard work and dedication. CLICK TO SEE ALL VIDEOS
