Exploring The Thrills Of Paragliding In Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) and the Tourism and Hospitality Sector Skill Council (THSC) jointly organised a comprehensive two-day training program on paragliding for 39 students. The training took place on the 24th and 25th of September 2023, at the Glide Inn Junga, Himachal Pradesh.

The Programme was inaugurated by Naresh Chauhan, ACF, Himachal Pradesh Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The students, hailing from the Institute of Vocational Studies and pursuing their Master of Tourism Administration at HP University, Shimla, participated in this enlightening and skill-enhancing training program.

The program aimed to equip the students with a solid foundation in the art of paragliding, focusing on essential aspects such as safety measures, etiquette, guest handling and interactions, and effective communication skills. The training was conducted by seasoned professionals, including the Chief Paragliding Instructor at Glide Inn Junga.

The key highlights of the training program included:

  • Basic Paragliding Techniques: Students were introduced to the fundamentals of paragliding, including equipment handling, takeoff, and landing procedures.
  • Safety Protocols: Emphasis was placed on safety measures and protocols, ensuring that the students gained a comprehensive understanding of paragliding safety.
  • Mannerism and Etiquette: Students were trained in the proper mannerisms and etiquette required while interacting with guests and fellow paragliders, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Guest Handling and Interactions: The training focused on honing the students’ guest handling skills, enabling them to create memorable and enjoyable experiences for visitors.
  • Effective Communication: Effective communication skills were taught, as clear and concise communication is crucial in ensuring the safety and satisfaction of paragliding participants.

This initiative by HPKVN and THSC not only provides valuable skills to the students but also supports the growth of tourism and adventure sports in Himachal Pradesh. The state’s breathtaking landscapes and ideal conditions for paragliding make it an attractive destination for adventure enthusiasts from around the world.
