Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena chaired a high-level meeting to review the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected regions of Himachal Pradesh. The meeting, held with senior administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners, and officials from stakeholder departments, aimed to assess the ground situation and expedite restoration activities.

Addressing the meeting, the CS stated that heavy rains and flash floods had severely impacted several districts of the state, leading to landslides and disruption of normal life. He informed that relief and restoration work is being carried out on a war footing to ensure normalcy is restored at the earliest. He also confirmed that all stranded pilgrims at Manimahesh in Chamba district have been successfully evacuated.

During the review, Deputy Commissioners of the flood-affected districts joined virtually and briefed the CS about the current situation and support required for relief operations. The CS directed all stakeholder departments to prioritize the restoration of essential services such as roads, water supply, electricity, and communication lines.

Senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary Kamlesh Kumar Pant, Secretary (Public Works) Abhishek Jain, Secretary (Education) Rakesh Kanwar, and Director-cum-Special Secretary (Revenue-Disaster Management) D.C. Rana, along with Deputy Commissioners and officers from key departments, were present in the meeting.
