Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil presided over the meeting of the Governing Body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) of H.P. Government Dental College and Hospital, Shimla here today and discussed the measures to be adopted to further improve oral health services and means for effective implementation of schemes run by the state government in health sector.
The governing body gave approval to provide free X-ray facility to the people and to open Prime Minister Jan Aushadhi Kendra at the hospital. The budget estimate of receipts and expenditure for the fiscal 2024-25 of the RKS was also passed in the meeting. Approval was also given to upgrade the operation theater of the dental hospital as a modular operation theatre.
During the meeting, the Health Minister said that awareness towards oral health has increased among the people and the government was committed to provide better dental care facilities. He emphasized on quick and effective implementation of the decisions taken by the Health Department so that the speed and transparency can be ensured.
The Health Minister said that there were highly qualified doctors in the state and the government was also ensuring the availability of quality infrastructure and equipment so that world class health services could be catered to the people of the state. He also directed to organize the meeting of the RKS every three months.
On this occasion, MLA Harish Janartha, Secretary Health and Vice President of the RKS, M. Sudha Devi, Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Director Dental Health Services Dr. Jharna Chauhan, principal Dental College and Hospital Dr. Ashu Gupta and other members of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti were also present at the occasion.
