Fun, Good Food and Celebrations All Around – Chapslee Fete

ch1A day of revelry and carousing in Chapslee Public School as it was time for their Annual Fete with both the students and parents having a gala time at various food and games stalls, each set up and managed by a team of students and teachers. Director Principal Pronati Singh informed that this is one of the most awaited event of our school as students and teachers both work in tandem to organize their stalls. A variety of items are on display, from games, to food, to sale of craft items. It is commendable to see that the hard work of all is appreciated by the parents and children of all age groups have a fun filled day.

Notable stalls this year included a computer games, place the bindi, tattoo making and accessories stalls. There was also the ever popular food corner. The computer games and skittles were a great hit. Children of all ages had something to amuse them, from lucky dip to sporting games like basketball. The favourite place of most students was the foot tapping Jam Session.  Other equally entertaining games were the rings, fishing the bottle, bouncing the ball, passing the ball, knocking the tins and lucky seven. The Grand Lucky Draw was awaited by many with eager eyes, who were all hoping to be among the lucky few to win a prize.

Mouth-watering food items included channa bhatura, gol gappas, bhel puri, noodles, momos, hot dogs, patties, cakes, pav bhaji and ice creams. The teachers had also put up a crafts stall selling handmade items made with the help of children including knitted sweaters for babies, decorated cushion covers, knitted wall hangings and much more.

The excitement level among the students could clearly be seen as Shimona, a Class 12 student expressed her views and said, “This is the most awaited event of the year as we get to enjoy with our parents and teachers”. Vinay, a student of Class 8 said, “My parents have also come here today, through this fete we get an opportunity to spend some quality time with our parents and have lots of fun”. Another student of Class 11, Karanveer said, “I am enjoying a lot with my friends. My favourite place in the fete will definitely be the Jam Session”.

Anita Kalta who was enjoying the mouth watering chat papadi, mother of one of the students said, “This Annual Fete gives us an opportunity to know the teachers better and create a good rapport with them as it is an informal occasion. There are some delicious food items prepared by the teachers, which is commendable”. Another parent, Mukesh Chauhan said, “It feels great to see our children happy. It is like a family picnic with lots of fun games and excellent food”.
