Funds under HIMCARE scheme have been released: CPS Sanjay Awasthy

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthy while rebutting the claims of the senior leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party regarding not issuing the funds to the hospitals treating patients with HIMCARE cards stated that the state government was providing cashless treatment upto Rs. 5 lakh per year per family under the HIMCARE scheme to the card holders and added that the amount was being reimbursed to empanelled hospitals against the treatment taken by the beneficiaries.

Reimbursing of claims to as many as 283 empanelled hospitals by the state government was a continuous process under the scheme. During the current state financial year, Rs. 100 crores have been reimbursed to these empanelled hospitals which includes rupees one crore each to be reimbursed to the hospitals in Chamba, Bilaspur and Sirmaur districts. Similarly, Rs.10 crores have been allocated to be reimbursed to hospitals in district Hamirpur and Rs. 10 crore released to PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Apart from this, 25 crore has been provided for Shimla district which includes Rs. 23 crore to IGMC, Shimla. An amount of Rs 29.45 crores has been provided to Kangra district which also includes Rs.15 crore to Dr. Rajinder Prasad Medical College and Hospital at Tanda.

He said that the claims as raised by hospitals, Rs. 1.20 crore to Kullu, Rs. 4.30 crore to Mandi, Rs. 8 crore each to district Solan and Una have been released to be reimbursed by the government.
