Necessary budgetary provisions were made before announcing the Old Pension Scheme, stated Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while interacting with the media on his arrival at Una today.  The Cabinet has accorded sanction to OPS in its first Cabinet meeting after careful deliberations at various levels. Likewise, all the other guarantees as promised in the Congress Pratigya Patra will be fulfilled in a phased manner after making adequate financial provisions. Chief Minister said that the government was much concerned to resolve the stalemate between the Adani Company and the truck operator unions and had several rounds of talks with both the parties. However, the truck unions were also having separate table discussions with the company.

“I hope that the dispute would be soon resolved” he said. He further claimed that the government will fight for the rights of the truck operators and their welfare is the utmost priority and would be taken care of. He said that the previous BJP government, though had announced the pay commission to its employees, but failed to give their arrears. The haphazard decisions taken by the BJP were unwanted and uncalled-for, stated the Chief Minister. All false promises were done to take political mileage. Besides, a whopping loan amount of Rs 75000 crore, the BJP has left an outstanding amount of Rs. 11000 crore as arrears to be paid to its employees and pensioners. Similarly, dearness allowance was also announced but it was not provided to the employees, he said adding that the BJP handed over empty coffers to us.
