Governor Kavinder Gupta called upon the youth to lead healthy, drug-free lives, highlighting that a responsible younger generation is fundamental to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Addressing the Nashamukt Bharat & Rashtriya Nashamukti Samman 2026 event hosted by the Kashiyana Foundation at New Delhi’s India International Centre, he stressed that national progress relies directly on individuals possessing strong character, mental stability, and physical well-being.
Highlighting the need to convert public concern into active social intervention, the Governor urged families to take a central role in steering children away from addiction. He observed that traditional family structures once served as strong foundations for core values, warning that these networks are weakening today. To counter this trend, he urged elders to set positive examples by abstaining from substance abuse themselves and fostering strong moral grounds at home.
As part of the proceedings, Governor Gupta presented the Rashtriya Nashamukti Samman 2026 to dedicated individuals and non-profit organizations for their outstanding contributions to social reform and addiction rehabilitation. He commended the Kashiyana Foundation for its anti-addiction drives, supported by remarks from foundation patron Shyam Jaju and founder Sumit Ankur Singh, who outlined their ongoing field initiatives before an audience of community leaders, journalists, and public figures.
