Congratulating the graduating students and gold medal winners, the Governor described convocation as a defining milestone that marks the shift from academic learning to real-world application. He called upon students to remain committed to their responsibilities towards society, the state, and the nation.

Emphasising the importance of scientific temperament, Shri Gupta said that fostering innovation among students would strengthen self-reliance in the farming community and boost agricultural productivity as well as the national economy.

Highlighting the university’s legacy, he noted that its alumni have contributed significantly in India and abroad across diverse fields. He appreciated the institution’s continued relevance through the achievements of its students and faculty.

The Governor also underlined that agriculture remains the backbone of Himachal Pradesh’s rural economy, with a large population dependent on farming and allied activities, contributing significantly to the state’s economic output.

Praising the university’s achievements in research and innovation, he said they reflect a strong commitment to rural development, social progress, and nation-building. He expressed confidence that the institution will continue to play a key role in advancing education, research, and innovation in the country.
