Governor Kavinder Gupta paid floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru on Shaheedi Diwas, honoring their supreme sacrifice for the nation. A tribute meeting was held at Lok Bhavan, where officers and staff observed a two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized that the courage, patriotism, and dedication of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru continue to inspire the youth to serve the country. He highlighted the relevance of their values—patriotism, social justice, and unity—in contemporary times and urged citizens to imbibe these ideals in daily life.
Sharing his personal connection to Bhagat Singh’s legacy, Governor Gupta mentioned his work with the revolutionary’s nephews and recalled visiting the Hussainiwala National Martyrs Memorial annually during March 23 celebrations.
He stressed that achieving a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047 requires active participation from every citizen and urged the youth to contribute to nation-building with sincerity, discipline, and dedication.
Later, the Governor interacted with Lok Bhavan staff, urging them to uphold the institution’s dignity and promising regular engagement to address their concerns.
