While presiding over the Commemoration Ceremony of 175th year of excellence of the Lawrence School Sanawar in Solan District, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that Lawrence School has completed a long journey since its inception. He said that the Institute was celebrating 175 years at a time when we were celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He said that this educational institution has given high level students to the country and the world who have brought laurels to the school by holding important positions in every field. He said that the values, discipline and ideals that they get from the school have been given by the students to the society.
Arlekar said that the students remain in constant touch with their teachers, so it was the duty of a teacher to instill moral values as well as the feeling of nationalism. He said that the school environment creates greater impact on overall development of students. He stressed upon the school management to follow the National Education Policy 2020. He said that the school has its own traditions but the National Education Policy would prove helpful in making more qualitative contributions in the lives of the students here. He also stressed on organizing conferences in the school on this subject. The Governor also released school magazines and commemorative medals on the occasion. The Headmaster of the school Himmat Singh Dhillon welcomed the Governor and informed about the historical background and achievements of the school. Maj. Sanjeev Sharma, Chairman School Committee, Gen Kulpreet Singh, Chairman, Steering Committee, Kritika Kulhari, Deputy Commissioner, Virender Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Members of the Board and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
