Governor Shukla Flags Off ‘Paddle to Heal Himalaya Cycle’ Campaign

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla flagged off the ‘Paddle to Heal Himalaya Cycle’ campaign from Raj Bhavan, today. Organized in collaboration with Healing Himalayas NGO, this expedition includes cyclists from Himachal Pradesh, who will travel from Shimla to Lahaul-Spiti giving message for preservation of Himalayan ecology.

The Governor said that the cleanliness campaign in the Himalayas by the said NGO has also been applauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. This campaign would also inspire others in this direction, he added. He hailed the efforts of the NGO for their initiative to spread awareness about cleaning trash from the Himalayan regions and for sustainable promotion of tourism. Rajesh Sharma, Secretary to Governor was also present on the occasion.
