In the spirit of Diwali, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Lady Governor Janaki Shukla visited Nari Sewa Sadan and Balika Ashram in Mashobra near Shimla today. Extending festive greetings, they interacted warmly with the residents and distributed sweets, adding joy to the celebrations.
During his interaction with the girls at the Balika Ashram, the Governor underscored the importance of education in shaping a meaningful life. He encouraged the students to work diligently, become self-reliant, and never lose their enthusiasm.
“Always strive to contribute towards the nation’s progress,” he urged.
Highlighting the cultural significance of the festival, Shukla said Himachal Pradesh is a land of deities, and its festivals are a reflection of the State’s rich Dev Sanskriti. He emphasized the need to remain emotionally and culturally connected to these divine traditions.
The Governor also stressed the importance of equal opportunities for children in institutional care, encouraging their participation in co-curricular activities to build confidence and showcase their talents.
C.P. Verma, Secretary to the Governor, along with officers from the district administration, were present during the visit.
