Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla Shimla flagged off three vehicles carrying relief material through Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society for Solan, Una and Sirmaur District Red Cross branches. The relief material including hygiene kits, tarpaulin, kitchen sets, blankets etc will be distributed to the families affected by the natural calamity.
The State Red Cross Society is making every possible effort to provide relief to the affected families, said the Governor and added that till date 14 vehicles with relief material have been sent to different districts by the State Red Cross Society. He said every possible help was being provided to the affected families and urged the people to voluntarily contribute to help those in distress. Rajesh Sharma, Secretary to the Governor and other officials of the State Red Cross were also present on the occasion.
