The week long Annual Athletics Sports Meet — 2014, held at St Edwards School, Shimla, finally ended today with enthusiastic and passionate students winning a number of medals and lifting trophies. Students from classes 1 to 12 showed their mettle as they competed in all the events and gave their best. Loud cheers and applause was heard from all around as students cheered for their respective Houses. School Principal Father Bosco and Vice Principal father Naveen awarded the medals and certificates to all winners and commended them on their performances.
The morning began with the 50 meters sprint race, followed by the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters and 1500 meters. Here students got a chance to show their physical and mental strengths. Each and every student gave his best and tried to reach the finish line. But then there were only three winners, though disappointed but not disheartened. The zeal and fervor was clearly seen in all the participants.
After the track events it was time for the field events, Long Jump and Shot Put. Here too students proved their mettle by giving their best and winning medals.
