Ahead of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and Special Campaign 6.0, the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL) hosted a national webinar on solid and electronic waste management in New Delhi. Over 2.6 lakh students, teachers, and community members joined the event via YouTube to learn about source segregation, recycling, and safe waste disposal under the Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE initiative.
Highlighting the alignment with NEP 2020, DoSEL Secretary Shri T. K. Anil Kumar stressed the importance of fostering environmental responsibility among students. Building on the success of Special Campaign 5.0—where 1 lakh students collected over 4,000 kg of e-waste across multiple states—he emphasized that implementing the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026 is critical for resource recovery and pollution control. Additionally, with the launch of the Special Campaign 6.0 portal, DoSEL has set an ambitious goal of conducting 7 lakh cleanliness drives across the nation.
To further engage youth during Swachhata Hi Seva (September 17 – October 17, 2026), DoSEL Joint Secretary Dr. Amarpreet Duggal announced a nationwide online quiz on the “Solid Waste Management Rules 2026” for students in Grades 6 through 12. Hosted on the official Eco Clubs portal, the month-long competition aims to deepen eco-conscious habits by combining Swachhata Pakhwada, Swachhata Hi Seva, and Special Campaign 6.0 into a unified cleanliness movement.
