High Standard of Sportsmanship and Skill Exhibited by Auckland Girls

The Senior Section Sports Day was held at Auckland House School as His Excellency, Chutintorn Gongsakdi, the Ambassador of Thailand to India accompanied by his wife M.L. Pujawan Gongsakdi, Preesuda Purotakanon, Second Secretary and Consul Kritnarong Sereeswad, First Secretary and Public Affairs and Education Officer and Veraporn Budhraja, Consular Assistant graced the occasion as chief guest and special guests, who were warmly greeted by Director Principal Sunita John and the Principal Auckland House School for Boys, Michael A. John.

There was an impressive March Past wherein the four House namely Matthew, French, Durrant and Lefroy marched in unison matching their steps with precision to the tune of the Pipe Band.

Thereafter, the students performed various physical fitness exercises such as PT Display with Lazim, Dumb Bells and Balls, Gymnastics, Yoga, Aerobics, Karate and Strike Self Defence through unarmed combat.

Matthew House bagged the Sports Shield and the Proficiency Cup. The Violet Andrews Trophy for Progress in Sports went to Durrant House. The Marching Cup was shared by Lefroy, French and Matthew House. The Ankur Chauhan Memorial Trophy for the Best Athlete and The Victor Ludorum prize for Excellence in Sports were awarded to Soshimla. The Tug-of-War Cup was won by Lefroy House.

The Chief Guest was unequivocal in his praise for the high standard of sportsmanship and skill exhibited by the girls. All in all, the Senior Section Sports Day was a great success.
