In a major step towards expanding global employment avenues, Himachal Pradesh has been officially authorized to recruit citizens for overseas jobs. The Ministry of External Affairs has granted a Recruitment Agent License (RAL) to the Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (HPSEDC), enabling the state to function as a certified overseas employment recruiter.

With this license, HPSEDC can now legally recruit Indian workers on behalf of foreign employers, aligning with international employment standards. Dr. Virender Sharma, Managing Director of HPSEDC, emphasized that this move places Himachal Pradesh among the few Indian states facilitating government-backed overseas recruitment, helping protect job seekers from fraudulent intermediaries and ensuring access to legitimate job opportunities abroad.

This development marks a strategic shift from private to public facilitation of international employment and reflects the state’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the interests of its workforce on a global stage.
