The Himachal Pradesh government has further expanded its digital governance initiative by introducing an online booking facility for the 21-bed dormitory at Circuit House Hamirpur, integrated with the existing HIM Atithi platform, effective from 20 May 2026.
According to a government spokesperson, the facility has been designed to provide affordable and convenient accommodation, particularly for students visiting Hamirpur for competitive examinations and other educational purposes.
A nominal tariff has been fixed for the dormitory beds, with Himachali residents required to pay ₹100 per bed, while non-Himachali users will be charged ₹200 per bed.
The spokesperson added that this step is part of a broader effort to modernize and streamline booking systems for government accommodation facilities across the state. Earlier, in May 2025, the government had already introduced online booking for rest houses and similar facilities for tourists and private visitors on a 50 percent advance payment basis.
Officials stated that the online system has significantly improved transparency, accessibility, and ease of booking for users, while also boosting occupancy levels and generating higher revenue for the government. The initiative is being seen as a move toward making public accommodation services more citizen-friendly, efficient, and digitally accessible.
