Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated a new Fire Sub-Station in Nadaun, located in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. The newly established Fire Sub-Station, equipped with two fire tenders, is set to improve fire safety measures, ensuring more effective control over fire incidents and providing timely assistance to the local community. The move reflects the state government’s commitment to enhancing fire services and emergency response systems across the region.

In his address, Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted the state government’s plans to modernize fire services across Himachal Pradesh, with an initial Rs. 19.40 crore being allocated as part of the first installment for modernization efforts. He reassured the public that there would be no scarcity of funds to ensure the modernization of the Fire department, further bolstering the state’s infrastructure and safety measures.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the construction of a state-of-the-art multipurpose sports complex at Kharidi in Nadaun, which is being developed with an estimated budget of Rs. 65 crore. The sports complex will feature world-class infrastructure, including an eight-lane swimming pool, a shooting range, and designated spaces for wrestling, boxing, Kabaddi, yoga, table tennis, and badminton.

This new sports complex is part of the government’s focus on promoting sports and physical well-being among the youth. Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized that the government is working to channelize the energy of youth in a positive direction, with such facilities playing a crucial role in preventing youth from falling into negative influences such as drug abuse. Similar sports complexes are also being developed in other parts of Himachal Pradesh.

The Chief Minister’s visit to Nadaun was marked by a grand welcome from the local population, and several delegations had the opportunity to meet and honor him during the event. Key dignitaries, including MLAs Sanjay Awasthi, Ranjit Singh Rana, Suresh Kumar, Kangra Cooperative Bank Chairman Kuldeep Singh Pathania, and Congress leader Pushpinder Verma, were present to support the occasion.

This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to improve public safety, encourage active lifestyles, and create world-class sports facilities in Himachal Pradesh.
