Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh met Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi to review rural road projects under PMGSY and seek special support for pending works in the remote Dodra Kwar region of Shimla district.

The Minister highlighted that difficult terrain, harsh weather and a limited working season have delayed a portion of the road sanctioned under PMGSY Phase-I. He requested special relaxation, additional funds and technical assistance to ensure all-weather connectivity in the strategically important area.

He also informed that nearly 1,500 km of rural roads have been approved for Himachal Pradesh under PMGSY-IV, and a proposal for an additional 1,200 km has been submitted to the Centre. The Union Minister assured priority consideration of the state’s demands.
