Education Minister Rohit Thakur said the recruitment process for 3,468 teaching posts in CBSE-affiliated government schools of Himachal Pradesh is underway. The posts include 2,668 regular vacancies across 19 categories referred to the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog, Hamirpur, and 800 temporary English and Mathematics teachers.
Chairing a review meeting of the Education Department, the Minister said recruitments for subjects including Sanskrit, Physical Education, Music, Drawing, Science, Commerce, Economics, Political Science, History, Hindi, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Computer Science, Fine Arts and Public Administration would be completed soon.
He informed that 9,359 students have received tablets under the Dr. Y.S. Parmar Digital Student Scheme during the last three academic sessions and directed officials to cover remaining eligible students through DBT.
The Minister said all government schools have been integrated with ICT, with approval secured for replacing computers in 524 schools. BSNL has also finalized networking work for 777 schools to strengthen digital learning.
Under the CBSE school initiative, 158 schools have received approval, with 146 already affiliated to CBSE. Temporary appointments of 400 English and 400 Mathematics teachers have been made to improve academic standards.
Rohit Thakur also reviewed other recruitment initiatives, including 870 PET posts, 486 Lecturer (Physical Education) posts and Multi Task Worker recruitment, where 6,703 of 8,000 posts have been filled.
He directed officials to speed up restoration of disaster-damaged schools, simplify the Dr. Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojana, strengthen school monitoring through digital platforms and ensure timely implementation of education schemes.
